Reading frequency and levels

We monitor the water quality weekly from November to March, and monthly in winter.

The proximity to the outlet of the Turanganui River (formed from 3 rivers with large catchment areas) and the busy port, means that the beach sometimes has poor water quality after rain. Signs are in place warning of this.
