Street trees

Street trees are maintained under our street tree policy and maintenance contract specifications.  Street tree maintenance work is carried out by our approved contractors. 

Problems with street trees

If a street tree is:

• blocking footpath access
• causing traffic safety issues
• damaged or needs pruning
• causing any other nuisance

Planting a street tree

Only Council can plant trees on the grass verge.  

If you want a tree on your front verge, you need to talk to us first.  Any digging in the road reserve (grass verge) requires permission first.  See information about applying for a Work in Road Reserve
