Ruatoria Township Plan

The 2011 Ruatoria township plan update builds on the work done in 2008, that identified the community's long term vision and key projects. Many of the previous projects have now been completed, like groynes in Waiapu river, diverting the stock route, improvements on main street,  fruit orchard  to name a few.

New priorities have now emerged and the top 10 projects that the community will focus on over the next 10 years are:

• River protection works
• Community recreation centre
• Puawaitanga Park
• Traditional Maori place names
• Healthy homes
• Weed, pest and animal control
• Poupou in township
• Walking and cycling track
• Community orchard
• Riverbank natives

The other ideas that are important are included in the list at the end of the update and implementation plan.
