Recycling options

Here are some ideas for recycling.

Bokashi compost bucket

A great way to recycle your kitchen scraps using a Bokashi bucket system.  The composting system takes all left over food scraps, fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds and tea leaves and bags, cooked or raw meat and fish.

The Bokashi system 'pickles' food scraps rather than the decaying process of traditional composting. And a nutrient rich compost can be produced in less than half the time.  The bucket can be kept in your kitchen, with no smell, and it takes most food waste.

Gisborne District Council sells the system for $33.  For more information about Bokashi compost system - visit Bokashi NZ website
