Issues leading to sewage discharges

Council dealt with several reports of sewage overflowing on to property and roads during the downpour overnight last Sunday before the decision to open the emergency valve was made at 8am Monday morning. The ongoing issues, with more rain led to re-opening the valve at 8pm Thursday night. Read more >>
Tolaga Bay beach clean-up underway

The cleanup of the Tolaga Bay foreshore starts today. With the help of Hikurangi Farms, Ernslaw One and PF Olsen we’ll be working to clear the beach. For safety reasons the beach will be closed while the large machinery is operating. Work will start from the wharf end and work down. The material will be stock piled to be burnt later. Read more >>
