Councillors vote to keep current representation arrangements

Gisborne District Council councillors have voted 8-6 to keep the current representation arrangements. The vote on Council’s representation review was taken after considering 205 submissions and listening to 13 people speak about their submissions. A formal decision on the ‘final proposal’ will be made at the full Council meeting at the end of the month. The vote today was to give direction to staff, who will prepare a report to Council, about what the councillor’s recommendation is and the reasons for that recommendation. Read more >>
Council's Ten Year Plan adopted unanimously

Gisborne District Council’s2012-22 Ten Year Plan[/planning-our-2012-2022-ten-year-plan/] was adopted last week (28 June 2012) with the unanimous support of all Councillors. The adoption marks the beginning of a new phase implementing the many projects outlined in the plan. It will be Council’s blueprint to move the district forward by redeveloping our important community facilities. Read more >>

Over the past 11 months, 1751 households have successfully applied for a rates rebate in the Gisborne district, saving eligible households up to $580 off their rates bill. That is worth $975,000 to the district. Read more >>
