Faster consents for minor building jobs offered

From next week it will be quicker and easier to get a building consent for minor work on your homes in the Gisborne district. Gisborne District Council is launching Fast Track Consents which will enable homeowners wanting to put in a solid wood fire, build a carport, do minor alterations or drainage work to get a building consent in 5 days rather than the standard up-to-20 working days. Tenders invited for Alfred Cox cycle and walkway

Construction of the Alfred Cox cycle and walkway is getting closer. Plans have now been finalised and tenders will be advertised this week. The cycle and walkway is one of 3 Gisborne District Council is planning to build in the next 3 years. It will link Awapuni School (Stanley Road entrance) and the i-Site on Grey Street via a new bridge across Waikanae Stream and a concrete walkway through Alfred Cox Park. Building is expected to start on 30 September, the first day of the school holidays. Construction is due to be finished by December. A public opening will be held. Read more >>
