Old wastewater pipes being replaced

Traffic in Palmerston Road and Waverley Street will be disrupted over the next couple of months. Council is replacing wastewater (sewer) pipes along Palmerston Road between Derby and Disraeli Streets and on Waverley Street in Elgin. Read more >>

Disruption in Childers Road likely as the road is widened

Sprinkler restrictions lifted in Gisborne city

Plenty of water in the Mangapoike dams and reasonable levels of water use has meant that Council is lifting the current sprinkler restrictions. For the last 3 weeks sprinkler use has been restricted to Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6-8pm. Read more >>
Highlights from 1st Future Tairawhiti meeting

Future Tairāwhiti is a new committee of Council with a focus on the big issues for the Gisborne district. It will make sure that the work of Council - big projects, policies and plans - are helping to make Tairāwhiti first choice for lifestyle and people, enterprise and environment. It is a forum for discussion rather than decision-making. From the discussions, recommendations are made to full the Council. Read more >>
