Put your bag and bin at the kerbside (out near the road) before 7am on the morning of your collection. Remember to put the correct number of stickers on your bag(s).
Rubbish and recycling is still collected on statutory and public holidays that occur on a week day.
Bags and recycling bins must be out by 7am to avoid missing collection.
How many rubbish stickers to use
You need one sticker for up to 5kgs. The maximum weight for one bag is 20kgs (4 stickers)
You can use plastic or paper bags, or a bag inside a rubbish bin. Make sure you tie the bag up and put the correct number of stickers on the bag.
Missed the kerbside collection?
In the city - you can take the rubbish bag, with the correct number of stickers on to the Waste Management at 75 Innes Street. Drop it in the bin at the gate during their opening hours only.

Buying extra stickers
You can buy extra stickers from the supermarkets, most dairies, service stations and Council. These stickers are a different colour and shape to the council-issued orange stickers.
You can purchase rubbish stickers from our customer service centres:
- $2.60 per sticker for kerbside collection
- $10.30 per rural pink sticker
Note: our recommended retail price is $2.60 and $10.30 per sticker. We have no control over what retailers charge.

Recyclables go in the council approved recycling bin. See the guide to what's recyclable.
Refuse goes in your own bag with the correct number of stickers.
How many stickers do ratepayers get and when?
Ratepayers on the collection route are sent 13 stickers with their rates invoice. This is one sticker per week.
