Gisborne Car Club Road Closures 2012

Submissions on proposal to close roads for Gisborne Car Club events

It is proposed to temporarily close the roads below to allow the Gisborne Car Club to hold gravel and sealed road hill climb events during the year:

Sunday 4 March or 11 March

Te Kowhai Road – from Waipaoa River bridge to the end.

Sunday 8 April or 15 April

Pakarae Road - from start of bridge at bottom of the hill.

Sunday 13 May or 20 May

Mahaki Settlement Road – from start of single lane bridge to the end of the road.

Sunday 17 June or 24 June

Waimata Valley Road – from bottom of the Waimata Hill to the top of the hill at the gravel pit.

Sunday 8 July or 15 July

Mander Road – entire road.

Sunday 9 September or 16 September

Waingake Road - from waterworks to top of hill where it turns into gravel.

Sunday 4 November or 11 November

Willows Road – entire road.

Saturday 1 December

Kanakanaia Road – from one lane bridge adjacent to Bruce Road turnoff to the top of the hill where it turns to gravel.

Sunday 2 December

Waitangi Terrace Road – entire road.

Each event will be held between 10am and 5pm on the first date provided the weather is favourable. If not, the event will be postponed to the second date. Each event will consist of a number of runs. Normal traffic flows will be allowed between runs.

Any person objecting to the proposals can make their objection in writing stating the reasons why. This must be received before 4pm Friday 3 February 2012.

This notice is issued under the Local Government Act 1974 Section 342 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965.
