About the project

The HB Williams Memorial Library is one of the most used Council facilities, with up to 5000 visitors a week. The community identified the library extension as one of the top priorities through the 2012 – 2022 Ten Year Plan process.

More space was needed to deliver a modern library service to the community.  The extension has provided:

• flexible accommodation for the annually increasing visitor numbers
• fit-for-purpose information technology facilities.
• news and media lounge spaces, a research centre.
• dedicated study spaces.
• improved accessibility.
• a reduction in building maintenance costs over the next 25 years.
